Well Fields - Assabet
| The Assabet wellfield,
located just off Powdermill Road in the southeastern corner of Acton, is the most
productive of the District's sources. Water from the Assabet I (68 foot deep gravel-packed
well) and Assabet II (54 foot deep naturally-developed well) is delivered to an on-site
treatment facility prior to entering the distribution system. When in full operation, the
Assabet wellfield can deliver 700 gallons per minute.
